NORTH COUNTRY ROVER

THE NORTH COUNTRY ROVER TAKES IN ALL THE BEST PARTS OF BOTH NORTH WEST AND THE NORTH EAST ALL IN ONE GREAT VALUE TICKET!

The Settle & Carlisle Line, Cumbrian Coast Line, Tyne Valley Line, The Esk Valley Line & The Yorkshire Coast Line Line are often spoke about as some of the most scenic lines in Great Britain. All these lines and more are covered on the North Country Rover! But it's not just the scenic lines, This ticket can see you visit Leeds, Carlisle, Newcastle. York and even Hull (should you wish) under this one ticket.

Things to do:

  • Settle & Carlisle Line - Starting your day at either, Skipton, Leeds or Carlisle you could visit England's highest station, Dent. Visit the world renowned Ribblehead Viaduct, or visit the delightful market town of Appleby. With so much to explore on the Settle & Carlisle line you might choose to spend more than just one day of your ticket on this line, and to be honest, I wouldn't blame you!
  • The Cumbria Coast Line - The Cumbria coast line offers some simply stunning scenery no matter which direction you look out of the window. Visit the beach at Nethertown. Walk along the beach from Nethertown to the lovely village of St Ives. Visit Ravenglass and take a trip on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway which as an added bonus of a 10% discount on single & return tickets when a North West Rover ticket is presented.
  • The Esk Valley Line - The Middlesbrough to Whitby line is one of Great Britain's most under spoken about lines. From Great Ayton all the way to Whitby every station offers some delightful scenery and the chance to have an adventure at every single station on the line! Stand out stations are Commondale and Kildale.
  • The Yorkshire Coast Line - Running from Scarborough to Hull this line offers some lovely areas to visit. A personal favourite on the line for me is Bempton with some nice country side walks. But if you are more a seaside sort of person then Bridlington or Filey might be more for you. Either way, it's a line worth travelling on :)
  • Entwistle on the Ribble Valley Line - A nice little station that delivers you straight into the middle of some amazing walking. Take a walk around the Entwistle reservoir and the Wayoh reservoir. Finish the walk off with a pint and bite to eat in the Strawbury Duck pub right next to the station!
